Her mother Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of mobile company Verizon. Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was director of a company that has an internet network. She was born in an elegant Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan with her Catholic family. Her parents enrolled their daughter in the Convent of the Sacred Heart an elitist and religious institution. The music was her love from the age of a child. She started playing the piano at the age of an infant. When she was thirteen when she was thirteen, she began writing her first tune. She was a participant at open mics. The singers she admired were the Queen Michael Jackson Madonna and David Bowie. When she graduated from high school she attended New York University's Tisch School of Art to study music. Her education didn't last long, she quit to pursue her musical career.
