Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway and at festivals in Europe as well as the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real title is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing piano and singing at church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. In 2005, she was employed to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine rose to prominence throughout the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
